Who we are

The mission of The Fostering Growth Foundation is to provide pediatric occupational, physical, behavioral health, and speech therapy services to children who are currently in or who have experienced foster care, including those experiencing kinship care, emergency placement, shelter care, in-home dependency, and family preservation services, and to engage in activities that advance child development, health, and family support. Therapy services are provided through The Foundation’s sister clinic, Fostering Foundations. Children in Washington’s foster care program receive Medicaid funding to cover medical services. When this coverage is not enough, we step in to cover the costs through private donations and grants.

In addition to therapy services, The Fostering Growth Foundation believes in meeting families where they are through a variety of means, which is why we created our wrap-around program. Families may apply to receive in-home sensory room modifications through our Sensory Access Program. In addition, the Fresh Start Pack program was created to ensure that children in foster care receive a brand-new backpack filled with educational and hygiene supplies, completely free of charge. Every child who begins therapy services through Fostering Foundations will automatically receive a Fresh Start Pack.

Our providers are trained and licensed occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physical therapists, and counselors passionate about supporting the foster care community. At The Fostering Growth Foundation, we believe in filling gaps, providing skilled therapy, and building bridges within the community to foster connection and independence. We know that waitlists can be months, even years, and that foster children should not have to wait years to receive vital, life-changing services.
