Dr. Mackenzie Kent, OTD, OTR/L, C-ASDCS
Dr. Mackenzie Kent, OTD, OTR/L, C-ASDCS graduated with her clinical Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from Touro University Nevada. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno. She displays extensive knowledge in pediatric development, trauma, foster care systems and processes, autism, and child-led learning. She earned her Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist certificate in 2024 and became an SOS Feeding Trained Therapist in 2025. Dr. Kent is Mental Health First-Aid certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and practices Trauma-Informed Care (TIC). She has presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association’s conference on the intersectionality of foster care and occupational therapy. Dr. Kent is the owner of the pediatric in-home occupational therapy clinic, Fostering Growth.

Miranda Basile, M.Ed.,CCC-SLP
Miranda Basile, M.Ed., CCC-SLP graduated with her Master’s in Speech- Language Pathology from Nevada State University. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno. Miranda currently works in-patient rehabilitation helping individuals recover from neurological and other related medical events. She is passionate about dysphagia and communication therapy. Miranda believes eating and communication are vital to maintaining culture, identity, and meaningful relationships. With a background in public health, she brings a broader perspective to clinical care, recognizing barriers to healthcare access and using that insight to develop practical, patient-centered treatment plans.
Miranda was introduced to the Fostering Growth Foundation after meeting Dr. Kent shortly after relocating to Washington in August 2025. She was inspired by the foundation’s mission and dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
